Education. BA and PhD of Law of the University of Cadiz, PhD Prize, Diploma in European Law from the Institut d’Etudes Européennes, Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium).

Director of the Office of International Relations at the University of Cadiz from 2007 to 2011.

Teaching. Subjects: Public International Law, European Law Institutions, and Political Liberties Union, European and International Environmental protection, Public International Law and European Law; States, European Union and Space Marine, International Space Marine, and Coastal Planning and Management of the Marine Environment.

Research. Principal investigator and head of the Inter-University Cooperation Project (ICP), ‘Spain and Tunisia to the Union for the Mediterranean: bilateralism and multilateralism “(2010-2012), with the University of Tunis El Manar (Tunisia). Member researcher of Interuniversity Cooperation Project (ICP), “Establishment of the Spanish-Moroccan Observatory for peace and security in the Mediterranean” (2011), and “Political risk assessment in the Straits of Gibraltar -, certain environmental and economic border risks “(2008-2010), with the University Abdelmalek Esaadi of Tanger (Morocco). Member of the Research Group “International and European Studies of Cadiz.” Member researcher R & D Projects “Spain and the European Union to the Straits of Gibraltar in the era of globalization”, SEJ2005-08136/JURI (2005-2008), and “Cooperation, Sovereignty and Borders in the Strait Area “DER2009-11693 (subprogram JURI) (2008-2011).

Research stays at the Institute of International Law at the University of Pisa (Italy), Library of the European Commission (Brussels), Institut International des Hautes Etudes (IHEI) and Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Défense Nationale (IHEDN) Paris ( France) and Istituto Affari Internazionali in Rome (Italy).

Main publication areas: maintenance of international peace and security, asylum and refugee self-defense, police cooperation in the EU Area of Freedom, Security and Justice, European Foreign Policy and European Security and Defense.
