Guide for authors
The Cuadernos de Gibraltar Gibraltar Reports Review, publishes articles about the Gibraltar Dispute. Publication of contributions is open to all scholars regardless of their nationality.
Research Papers
Papers should be written in Spanish, French or English, using Microsoft Word (DIN A4, Times New Roman 12, 1.5). Papers will be accepted as Studies (max. 40.000 characters) or Notes (max. 20.000 characters) and they must included title, summary and keywords in English and Spanish. Published articles in another language version will be accepted. They can be sent preferably by e-mail to cuadernosdegibraltar@uca.es. If the paper can not be sent by e-mail, a printed copy or a file on diskette or CD can be mailed to Inmaculada González García, co-Director ot the Review, at: Área de Derecho Internacional Público, Facultad de Derecho, Universidad de Cádiz, Avda. de la Universidad s/n. 11405 – JEREZ-CADIZ-SPAIN.
Authors will be notified within thirty days of receipt.
Headings, Summary, Keywords, Titles
The work should be structured with the following headings and subheadings: sequence of numerals – I (II, III, IV …) -1 (2,3,4 …)-A (B, C, D …)-a (b, c, d, …)-i (ii, iii, iv …). Manuscripts must be accompanied by a Summary in outline form with the numeral order listed above and must contain a summary in Spanish and English. Likewise, keywords and a title are required and must also be translated into Spanish and English.
Citations
The references must be listed alphabetically by last name of the author, written in capital letters. Numbered citations should be inserted at the bottom of each page using Arabic numerals.
Book citations must be written in italics (Example, GARCIA GARCIA, J., Euro-Mediterranean relations, Ed Algeciras, Madrid, 2012, at p. 54-92. In article citations, the title should have quotation marks, and magazines or collective works should be in italics. (Example, GARCIA GARCIA, J., “Spain and Morocco in the XXI century”, Paix et Sécurité Internationales, No. 7, 2012, pp. 54-92).
National and international case law must be cited according to the system of each Court or Tribunal.
The textual references of sentences or paragraphs from works of other authors or documents or judgments should have quotation marks without italics, preferably in the footnotes. Please minimize citations or links to Internet websites.
Release Process
The Editorial Board will decide which papers to publish. All studies and notes should be reviewed favorably by any member of the Editorial Board, by a specialist or by a reviewer designated by the board. Creativity, exellence, methodology, proposals and the main contributions of the paper will be taken into consideration. Papers will be published under the condition that the authors accept to make the changes suggested by the Review and other pertinent changes in accordance with publishing rules. The communication of the decision regarding publication and revision prior to publication or non-publication, shall be substantiated and shall not exceed six months. Authors of papers accepted for publication will be required to correct proofs, which are to be returned within 48 hours. Substantial changes to the proofs are not allowed. Only the correction of errors regarding the accepted version are authorized.
Books and Book Reviews
Books sent to the Review shall be published on a list of Received Books. The Editorial Board can commission, in certain cases, a Book Review or Comment. Only the Book Reviews commissioned by Cuadernos de Gibraltar/Gibraltar Reports Review will be published.
Copyright
Papers will be published under the condition that the author or authors yield to the Review exclusive reproduction rights. In the event of requests from third parties to reproduce or translate articles or parts thereof, theses decisions will be made by the Editorial Board.
Warning
Any breach of these regulations shall constitute grounds for rejection of the manuscript submitted.
