Participation of Prof. Dr. Olena Nihreieva, in the Round Table ‘The Ukrainian Crisis and International Protection’, 16 December 2024, Cádiz 14 febrero 2025
On 16 December 2024 Olena Nihreieva, professor of the Department of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Cadiz, participated in the Round Table “The Ukrainian Crisis and International Protection”, organized by the University of Cadiz and the SEA-EU Observatory for Migration and Human Rights.
This activity, moderated by Marcela Yasmín Iglesias Onofrio, Vice-Rector for Internationalization at the University of Cádiz, was the official closing of the University-Shelter Plan 2023-2024 implemented by the University of Cádiz.
The presentation of Prof. Nihreieva was dedicated to the topic: “Three Years of Temporary Protection for Ukrainians in the EU and Spain: Results and Challenges”. In this context the issues of temporary protection implementation by the EU members states were touched upon. Special attention was paid to the Ukrainians’ experience in Spain. The future prospects of the development of temporary protection as a tool for migration management in the EU were debated.

- “Reflections on the Collaboration between Spanish and Ukrainian Universities during the War”, by Oleksandr Pronkevych, president of the Association of Hispanists of Ukraine and professor at the Catholic University of Ukraine (Lviv, Ukraine).
